New Details Emerge from the Meeting Between Nikol Pashinyan and Vladimir Putin

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the details of the “Crossroads of Peace” program. Pashinyan handed Putin a brochure of the peace treaty. He also expressed concern over the language and terminology used by several Russian officials on regional issues. This was shared by the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, on her Facebook page.

Prime Minister Pashinyan evaluated the results of the meeting with the Russian President positively. A wide range of issues was discussed, and concrete agreements were reached concerning energy, education, and humanitarian fields, Baghdasaryan noted.

An important point of the meeting was the agreement to deploy the Border Guard Troops of Armenia’s National Security Service for the protection of the Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Turkey state borders starting from January 1, 2025. The border control at the Armenia-Iran state border checkpoint will be fully carried out by the Border Guard Troops of the Armenian NSS.
