The Francophonie Summit has commenced
On October 4 and 5, 2024, representatives from over 100 countries and governments will participate in the 19th Francophonie Summit in Villers-Cotterêts. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is also in France to attend this event. The summit is not only dedicated to the French language but also aims to enhance the level of diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation among Francophone countries.
Francophonie is also a place where we can collectively defend diplomatic relations and the territorial integrity of different countries around the world, – stated Emmanuel Macron in his opening speech.
The International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) now includes 54 member states, 29 of which are located in Africa. This highlights a significant focus on African issues, especially in light of recent political changes in the region.
