The metro will completely transition to a unified ticketing system by the end of October, meaning tokens will no longer be available. This was announced by Babken Sedrakyan, the acting general director of Yerevan Metro, during the regular operational meeting of Yerevan City Hall.
Babken Sedrakyan noted that during the reporting period, the metro transported 582,622 passengers. A total of 2,962 trains were deployed, of which 682 were three-car trains, 1,252 were two-car trains, and 1,028 were one-car trains. The planned passenger transport figure was 552,699 passengers, while the actual number was 582,622 passengers, achieving a performance rate of 105.5%. A total of 341,589 passengers used the unified payment system.
The acting director also reported that the replacement work on the three escalators at the “Gortsaranayin” Station has begun and will be completed by December 25-26.
