The Number of Artsakh Armenians Applying for Armenian Citizenship Is Small
As of October 10, 5,409 individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have applied for Armenian citizenship, with 3,431 individuals having been granted citizenship.
Due to the large-scale military aggression carried out by Azerbaijan’s armed forces in September 2023, Artsakh Armenians were forced to migrate to Armenia.
According to the data from the National Security Service’s press center, more than 115,000 Artsakh Armenians have migrated to Armenia. As of July 1, a large number of forcibly displaced individuals from Artsakh left Armenia by air and land routes, with the majority not returning to their homeland.
