The Armenian men’s team was 6th in the World Chess Olympiad

The 45th World Chess Olympiad ended, where the men’s team of Armenia finished the competition, taking the 6th place.

The Armenian national team competed against Iran in the last round. Thanks to Hayk Martirosyan’s and Karen Grigoryan’s victories and Shant Sargsyan’s draw, the Armenian national team won by 2.5:1.5. In the last round, Robert Hovhannisyan lost with white pieces.

Armenia scored 17 points, celebrating 8 victories, recording 1 draw and suffering 2 defeats. The Indian team was declared the champion, the second was the USA, and the third was Uzbekistan.
