The capital of Iran is planned to be moved to the south of the country.

It is planned to move the capital of Iran to the south of the country, closer to the Persian Gulf. This was announced by Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian. He noted that it is necessary to move the capital to the coastal regions for economic reasons.

As the capital of the country, Tehran has a number of problems, the only solution to which is its relocation. If we continue to bring resources from the south and the sea to Tehran, then turn them into commodities and send them back the same way, it will weaken our competitiveness in the market.

The president also noted that after the relocation of the capital, the authorities will be relocated first, after which citizens will also be given the opportunity to move.

The relocation of the capital was also discussed under the previous government as Tehran has a number of environmental and economic problems ranging from soil pollution, water shortage and traffic congestion. However, all negotiations that have taken place so far have ended in failure. Tehran remains the center of the country.
