Statistics of material losses of Artsakh are presented
For the first time the “Genesis Armenia organization was presented with preliminary statistics of material losses after the loss of Artsakh. One of the main purposes of publishing such information is to make comparisons in case of return to Artsakh and to immediately react to the crimes of Azerbaijan. Armen Sargsyan, a deputy of the Artsakh National Assembly, stated this in his speech.
We are far from thinking that the report fully reflects the statistics of material losses of Artsakh. But it is the beginning and the first beginning. We are sure that in the future different organizations and circles will start to study these statistics more deeply and will get more accurate figures. They are also important for presenting our losses and crimes of Azerbaijanis on international platforms.
There are 9 cultural centers, 200 houses of culture, 156 libraries, 25 museums, 11 art schools, 2 theaters left in Artsakh. Armen Sargsyan also noted that most of Artsakh’s heritage is inherited from the Middle Ages and XVIII century. It was presented that about 5000 monuments, 2385 cross stones, 400 medieval tombs, 385 churches and 60 monastery complexes have been preserved in Artsakh.
We had 4 reservoirs and 5 canals in Artsakh. We had a task to make Artsakh self-sufficient in electricity. We almost achieved it by building about 37 hydroelectric power plants. These hydroelectric power plants were of great importance during the blockade.
In 2020 the population of Artsakh was 147 thousand, and in 2023 – 107 thousand. The figures were provided by the Artsakh authorities.
